CGI stands for Computer Generated Imagry.
I enjoy the freedom CGI gives you to create awesome CGI demo reels.
I use many programs for DCC, and believe that most people dislike CGI because it portrays an unbelievable concept. It's best to do all impossible stunts and effects in camera, so that your audience is drawn into your film. Then use CGI to make an extrordinarily impressive title sequence.
I love CGI, but generally only use it as a cheap trick to fool people into thinking I've actually done a significant amount of work on a project. I'd much rather fly in real life than use green screens, compositing and 3D scanning to make it look like I can fly. =)
